DTN COMMENTS: A few deals have been reported sold in Eastern Nebraska at 
$360, steady with the bulk of this week's business and $2 higher than 
last week's weighted average. The rest of cattle country remains quiet. 
Having said all of that, it sounds like the bulk of business could 
essentially be done for the week. Some asking prices are around $232-plus 
in the South. 

Beef cutouts are mixed at midday (choice 377.43 -0.54, select 362.20 
+1.44) with moderate to good box movement (75.65 lds of choice cuts, 9.99 
lds of select cuts, 3.55 lds of trim, and 12.11 lds of ground). Live 
cattle futures are mostly modestly higher at midday while feeder issues 
are mostly sharply lower. 

So far this week, Northern dressed deals have had a range of $355 to 
$362, mostly $360, $2 higher than last week's weighted average basis 
Nebraska. Southern live business has been done at $230 to mostly $232, $4 
below the prior week's weighted averages.
